Split systems

Air conditioning, supplied and installed.

One trade handles the lot — the unit, the electrical work and the sign-off. Servicing and repairs too.

What we do

Cooling that's sized right.

The most common mistake with air conditioning is buying the wrong size unit. Too small and it runs flat out; too big and it short-cycles and costs more to run.

Supply & installation

New split systems supplied and installed, including all the electrical work and a tidy finish inside and out.

  • Single and multi-head systems
  • Bedrooms, living areas, offices
  • Dedicated circuit and isolator
  • Advice on sizing before you buy

Replacements

Old unit on its last legs? Swapping it is usually cheaper than another round of repairs, and the running costs drop noticeably.

  • Like-for-like replacement
  • Upgrading an undersized unit
  • Removal and disposal of the old one

Service & repairs

Not cooling like it used to, making a noise, or leaking? Worth a look before summer rather than during it.

  • Not cooling or heating properly
  • Water leaks and drainage
  • Noises and rattles
  • Error codes and electrical faults

Worth knowing

Book before the heat, not during it.

Every summer the same thing happens on the coast — the first proper hot week arrives and every sparky on the Coffs Coast is booked out for a fortnight.

If your unit struggled last summer, spring is the time to sort it. Same job, no waiting.

Common questions

Before you call.

What size unit do I need?

It depends on room size, ceiling height, insulation and how much sun the room gets. Tell Mac the room dimensions and he'll give you a straight answer rather than upselling you.

Can you supply the unit, or do I buy it?

Either. Mac can supply and install, or install a unit you've already bought. Just check with him before you buy so you don't end up with the wrong size.

Do I need extra electrical work?

Usually a split system needs its own circuit and an isolator. Because Mac is a licensed electrician, that's part of the same job rather than a second trade and a second bill.

How long does an install take?

A straightforward single-head split system is generally a day. Multi-head systems or tricky runs take longer — you'll be told before work starts, not after.
